Big 5 launch in Qatar under the patronage of the Prime Minister

The exhibition by dmg events will host over 200 exhibitors, live product demonstrations, and 40+ free-to-attend education workshops from 24–26 September 2018 at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre. Rawad Sleem, Event Director for The Big 5 Qatar has commented: “The Big 5 Qatar is honored to receive support from H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The rate at which infrastructure is developing is simply remarkable; according to some reports, Qatar was spending an average of $500m a week on major infrastructure projects in preparation for the World Cup 2022. At The Big 5 Qatar we are committed to showcasing the sector’s capacity to the international community. The event continues to gain traction in the country and we couldn’t be more optimistic as we near this inaugural edition.”

Ahmed Al-Obaidli, Director of Exhibitions at Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), commented:  “The Big 5 Qatar comes as part of our efforts to develop and grow Qatar’s business events sector and we look forward to welcoming the construction community from near and far to Doha’s world-class exhibition venue.” The Big 5 Qatar is set to host more than 200 exhibiting companies from 17 exhibiting countries including Kuwait, Turkey, Italy, China, and Canada amongst others. They will display the latest building technologies and solutions across dedicated product sectors.
Local-based Founding Partners head these sectors, each reflecting the high standard that Qatar has to offer across the entire construction cycle. The Founding Partners include Qatar Building Company, Smeet, Iesco, Qalex, Palmera Landscapes, CHIP International, QIMC, and Al Sehmiah.


Beyond live product demonstrations, the event will feature 40+ accredited workshops that are free-to-attend and offer CPD (Continuing Professional Development) certificates to attendees. The education sessions will be held by industry renowned leaders including Dr. Hossam Samir Ibrahim from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and Raimund Hanauer from Qatar Rail to name but a few. The education agenda will capture the latest industry trends from How to do Business in Qatar to Trends in Solar Energy Systems. The Big 5 Qatar will run from 24–26 September 2018 at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre will be delivered with the official support of QTA. The three-day event’s Development Partner is Qatar Development Bank and its Official Sponsor is Ashghal.
