Appointment of YB V. Sivakumar as a chairman of MyCEB

Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is proud to announce the appointment of YB V. Sivakumar as its new chairman, effective 30 August 2024.
YB V. Sivakumar, the former minister of human
resources, is recognised as highly motivated and outstanding in public speaking.
This appointment is a significant trust placed in him by the Madani government,
and he is deeply grateful for the confidence entrusted to him to lead and chart
a new direction for MyCEB.
As the new chairman of MyCEB, he is committed to exploring new opportunities to drive MyCEB’s progress. His focus includes strengthening Malaysia’s position as a premier destination for international business events, encouraging innovation by integrating the latest technology into event organisation, promoting our nation as a sustainable and eco-friendly destination for global business events, and developing local talent in staging Malaysia’s events scene.
YB V. Sivakumar will also lead MyCEB’s board discussions, encourage active participation, and allow dissenting views to be freely expressed. At the same time, he will lead the board in establishing and monitoring good corporate governance practices in MyCEB and develop a good relationship between the board and management.
MyCEB’s acting chief executive officer, Tan Mei Phing, welcomed the new chairman with great anticipation, stating, “We are thrilled to have YB V. Sivakumar joining us at this pivotal juncture. His vision and leadership will undoubtedly be a significant asset as we continue to champion Malaysia as a leading destination for business events. With his guidance, we are confident that MyCEB will achieve new milestones and continue to drive significant economic contributions to the country.”
